The combination valves can fail, as they have a spring mechanism that corrodes over the years, and prevents the valve operating correctly, drastically reducing the flow rates to the showers and taps.

Remedy: Throw it away, and replace it

The Megaflo may need need the air bubble replenishing. Although this wouldn’t ordinarily affect the flow, it can, in some circumstances.

Get the unit serviced and checked.

Additional expansion vessels and accumulators can also cause problems.

In all honesty, there are so many problems associated with low flow or pressure, you’d be best advised to get someone in to have a look at it. Make sure they’re familiar with unvented cylinders, and pressurised systems, and know their onions!
